hey all, as promised, here is the latest from Bill on the cranks...
"I'm not quite sure how to start or what to say about my lack of communication as well the fact that you trusted me with a prepayment for cranks almost a year ago. I feel very, very fortunate and blessed to have a friend like Rody who has done an awesome job of relaying information and replying to questions I should have been addressing all along. At this point I can't say much more then I'm so embarrassed and do truly apologize for my lack of attention to you the customer and delivery to this point. Having said that, I'll ask you to please make a decision as to what you would like to do! While in the past you have been giving delivery dates, that have not been meet, I will tell you that all is finally in place to deliver cranks if you are still interested. I should finally be ready to ship in 3-5 weeks; I KNOW, MORE WAITING!! However if your patience has finally reached it's breaking point, I will refund your payment. For me this option is hard to swallow, not due to the issue of money, but because I've failed you and your trust. I will tell you that if you choose to wait for the cranks, I will communicate with you on a regular basis to keep you in the loop as to their status. Finally, while I'm certainly not trying to sway you, if you do still want the cranks, I think you will be very happy with the new updated version of the Hot Rods.
After 35 plus years of building bike frames and components, (I guess I'm off to a rocky start) I still have a great passion for building the finest quality product I know how to. I look forward to producing and offering now only the cranks, but also some old and several new designs that I think should be a lot of fun. Once again, thank you for trusting me in the past and I look forward to hearing from you and working toward earning your trust in the future. Bill Grove"
So, there ya go.
I've been told that once they are ready to ship, there will be extra sets available, Yippee!
cheers,
rody

if only i had some spare money... how much where they again?
I don't mind the wait Bill! Thanks for letting us know how things are, and please do take your time. Rather a good product that is late, than a bad one that is on time.
Oh, and for us Europeans, a refund wouldn't be interesting anyhow, now that the dollar is once again at a low.
I'm still interested in the set that I have ordered. Grove cranks on a Groovy frame... I think it's worth the wait. :)
I'm really keen on steel cranks and would love a set, but where's the information on them?
